Reflecting on the past 40 years of improved
technology, enhanced
accounts, increased member
accessibility, added
online tools, and expanded financial
education. A heartfelt
thank you for allowing us to be there for you over the years and continue in the years to come.
Technology
Entrust is always upgrading its technology to better serve our members. The database in which our financial information flows used to be outsourced and caused restrictions on what we could do. In the past decade, we've brought that system in-house so we can be more agile and respond more quickly to our members needs. We've incorporated member service tools into our daily business so we can better understand our members and provide more personal service. More recently, we upgraded our
debit and credit cards by partnering with like-minded vendors that allow more flexibility with our members' cards.
Accounts
In the past, credit unions were stereotyped as a "Savings & Loans" institution. It was normal to have your savings and loans at a credit union and the rest of your accounts at a bank. However, times have changed. Entrust is a full-service financial institution, from the traditional
savings account to a high-yield checking account called
Bonus Checking where you can earn money on your money. In addition, we do
first mortgages and home equity loans. We have also evolved to better serve our specific membership niche and now offer
along with business accounts. You need it? We've got it.
Accessibility
We may not have branches on every street corner, but over the years Entrust has become accessible all over the world. Whether you live in Richmond or Russia, we can serve you. In 1996, Entrust moved into its own building to establish a
permanent base location and give easier access to members in the local area. For those not in the area, our partnerships with
Credit Union Service Centers have expanded to over 2,000 locations worldwide and we now offer more
free ATMs than Bank of America.
(Check out the "Convenient Locations" section on our website home page.) Last year we also implemented a 24/7 call center and 24/7 loan center so we can serve our members outside normal business hours.
Online Tools
Online has become the way of the world. We may not be big, but we are more advanced than many of the larger financial institutions out there just as a way to better serve our members - wherever they are. Since July 23, 1970, we've not only implemented the now-standard
On-line Banking and free
On-line Bill Payment, but we've gone above and beyond with revolutionary products such as
On-line Deposits, where you can deposit your checks on-line,
e-Services, a way to set up personal and account alerts and receive e-Statements, and just recently implemented
Mobile Banking that allows you to do transactions from your cell phone.
Education
We are big believers in financial education. Because as a credit union we are owned by our members, one of our underlying goals is that our "owners" know how to handle their finances wisely. Over the years, we have offered many financial seminars, both secular and biblical, to teach our members how to become better stewards with money. More recently, Entrust has partnered with Crown Financial Ministries to offer 10-week bible study courses, various workshops and one-on-one financial evaluations. We continue reaching out to all our members, including the 20-something group with this past year's 20Cents: A conference for 20-somethings, by 20-somethings, all about financial stewardship. Entrust has become more widely known in the Christian financial community, and known for educating our members through seminars, workshops, bible studies, partnerships, conferences, and in person.
